Review: Tesco’s Finest range of mince pies usually score well and this is no exception.
To start we’ve got a fancy star design on top with little cut out pieces and a shake of icing sugar too. It’s a good looking mince pie – something you’d be happy to bring out to guests for sure.
The only real problem here is the pastry. While it tastes nice, it’s slightly too thin and that’s resulted in two mince pie faux pas; a soggy bottom and poor structural integrity. Needless to say you’ll need a plate to eat one (or two) of these.
The mincemeat is the star of the show – it’s got a generous kick of brandy & port and you can taste them too. Nicely spiced and full of fruit too.
A really good mince pie (assuming you have the aforementioned plate to hand) and I’ll admit I ate three in one sitting.
