Review: I last reviewed a Co-op Irresistible mince pie back in 2019 with an almost identical box. They received a score of 6.5/10, can the class of 2021 do any better?
Whilst the box looks similar, the mince pies themselves look identical. Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing to be honest, but it maybe doesn’t show a huge amount of imagination on Co-op’s part.
The pastry is quite soft and maybe a little too pale. As a result it doesn’t taste quite right, I don’t really think it tastes of much which is a shame.
Onto the mincemeat – and it’s better news than the pastry. The taste is good, quite sweet and a good kick of brandy…but it’s quite thin it and it loses some of the “luxury” you should get from mincemeat in a mince pie under the Co-op Irresistible banner.
Not brilliant. But OK. Back to 6.5/10…no progress since 2019.
