Aldi Specially Selected All Butter Mince Pie Review 2025

Review: This should be considered the flagship Aldi mince pie – created to compete with the Tesco Extra Special’s of this world. Usually holds up well too.

Well this is a great mince pie – it really has pretty much everything you’d want. The pastry is sweet and a nice texture – there’s some crumble but not to the point of making them structurally weak to handle sans plate.

The filling is the star. With cognac, ruby port and cider, Aldi have really raided the booze cabinet but it works. They’re rich and have a great depth to them without being overpowering or leaving you wondering if after 3 pies you need to call an Uber.

A healthy sprinkle of icing sugar on top and the festive snowflake design on the lid top these off nicely.
