Your opinion on these fancy mince pies will very much depend on whether you like amaretto or not.
I love amaretto. And I love these. They're certainly a special pie and probably not something you want to serve to everyone. They're a pricey pie too at 75p each - but that's probably due to the glug of booze they've chucked in. It's also why they don't crack a 9/10 score.
The pastry plays second fiddle but it's a hit itself, sweet and crumbly but pretty much just right. A nice hit of sugar on top with icing sugar too. I'll admit I ate all four of these far quicker than they probably recommend.
