This mince pie (tart) has been produced by Aldi for 3 of 4 years now and the recipe seems to have changed hardly at all. Even to my trained taste buds and keen eye.
I imagine it has, people have jobs and they need to feel busy and like they have purpose. If their purpose is to consistently make a great jamaican rum mince tart they're doing a great job.
This is such an enjoyable tart, sweet and a nice but gentle hint of jamaican rum - lots of plump fruits inside and the alternate 'tart' pastry style mean I could eat them all year round.
Only issue this year vs 2025 is the price. Up almost 17% (42p per tart to 49p per tart) which is surely blamed on war or some economic cog that's been turned. It's a shame, as it drops from 9/10 last year to 8.9 as a result.
Still superb though.
